Baked Samosa

Quantity: 2 Samosas
Phyllo pastry dough: 2 sheets
Boiled potatoes: ½ medium sized
Onion, chopped: 1 tbsp
Peas: 4 tbsp
Tofu: 4 tbsp
Wheat bran:1 tsp
Corn oil:1 tsp
1. Mix mashed boiled potato, peas, chopped onion, grated/crumbled tofu and wheat bran in a mixing bowl
2. Spice to taste using a variety of spices as per taste
3. Roll phyllo pastry dough into a sheet and divide the sheet and filling in two parts
4. Place one part of filling at the corner of the phyllo sheet and roll into the shape of a Samosa
5. Wet the sides of the phyllo sheet to help them stick
6. Place on baking sheet and brush with corn oil
7. Bake at 350 degree Fahrenheit till crispy and golden on outside

Gulab Jamun

Skim milk powder: 1 cup
All purpose flour: 3 tbsp
Butter, unsalted 2 tbsp
Baking powder: ½ tsp
Milk, skim: ½ cup
Canola oil, for frying: 2 cups
White sugar: 1 ¼ cups
Water: 1 cup
1. Mix milk powder, all purpose flour, butter, baking powder and milk and kneed into soft dough
2. Let the dough stand for about 15 minutes and make 40 small balls
3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls till you get a golden colour on the outside
4. Let the balls cool down
5. In another pan, heat 1 cup of water with the sugar till the sugar dissolves
6. Let the syrup cool down
7. Put the fried balls in the sugar syrup and let them stand for at least half an hour before serving
